Arlene Fiumano Lifetime Achievement Award

Arlene Fiumano

The club membership created the Arlene Fiumano Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. The award was created to honor individuals committed to advancing Republican principles and who made outstanding contributions to their communities. The award was named after the late Arlene Fiumano, a community activist, Republican leader and Past President of the club. Arlene was also a founding member and driving force behind this club as well as many other civic organizations. Some of those Organizations are the Christ Ev. Lutheran Church Council, the Our Neighbors Civic Association, the Interfaith Council of Southwest Queens, 106th Precinct Community Council, 102nd Precinct Community Council, Ozone Park Residents Block Association, Jamaica Hospital Community Advisory Council and the Women's Republican Club of Queens County.

The first recipient of the award was Joseph Giglia. Since 1990, Joseph has served as an Election Day Worker and has also been a member of the Queens County Republican Committee since 1993. Joseph is truly an inspiration for grassroots republican leaders everywhere. A luncheon was held in his honor on Saturday April 28, 2007. We would like to thank the luncheon committee, headed by Rosemary Duffy for all of their hard work.
